that's the same thing i always ask too!
We celebrate the day because it represents freedom, something some of us will never quite fully possess. It reminds of the blood spilled, dreams lost and achievements unmet; we celebrate to say thanks...
Celebrate because you don't have to wear a chain around your neck which weighs 35 pounds... You could be picking cotton so celebrate!
