Frustrated and Pissed

Why is it necessary to have 10 cops on horseback at every street intersection?
why is it necessary to have cops on rooftops canvasing the crowd?
why is it necessary to block all exit and entrance ramps?
why?
perhaps because it is a majority of blacks who participate in Texas Relay festivities?
perhaps if the same excessive presence was present during SXSW or Biker weekend, I wouldn't be so pissed and frustrated!!

just venting.....
any thoughts?

That's right! AS ALWAYS. What exactly will start the low rumblings of change? How many times do we see this kind of stuff and do, say nothing? Maybe we should call the police chief and have him explain to us why that was...then share it with a news station. hmmmmmm.

Shelle Bell,
the only answer I have for you, is that people fear what they don't understand, and they hate what they fear. We are a people who are not easliy read, although our actions are easily predicted most time, it still doesn't say what prompted them. That is the best answer I have, not only for you, but for myself. Is it right? I couldn't say, but what it does for me is kill the frustration, and instead gives birth to a defeating attitude, for if after 400 and something years, we are still here, that say's more to me than some cops who literally don't know any better, I actually feel sorry for them, and thank them for their level of security for we are priceless.

Call me republican.... I believed they should have tear gassed and shot rubber bullets into the crowd.... AND I told the POLICE... AND I WOULD BE ON the neS SUPPORTING THEM IF THEY HAD. Went down there Saturday night briefly.... five fights, excessive weed smoking (every ten steps another one lit a joint) would not leave the areas after being asked SEVERAL TIMES... loitering, public intoxication, lewdness, excessive harrassment, should I continue? They had the same presence during Mardi Gras, and whup on a few "non coloreds". I went to the Relays, and a few parties.. Fcking kids all over the place, in the WAY, hangning out, not attending the actual relays, not going into the clubs (too young), the bottom line is I would agree whole heartedly if it weren't for the YOUNG ASS CROWD...

sarah, i can protest all i want...but it won't make a difference...

angel, yeah it is terrible the price hikes

jai, i do agree with the fear what they don't understand...but still doesn't make it right.

kim kim kim, it saddens me u think like this. i guess it is all about perception. i was downtown over the weekend. never saw any fights or the weed. not saying it didn't happen though. what i saw was a lot of young people trying to have a good time, dressing fly, and some barely dressing lol...they didn't bother me.
i wasn't afraid of US at all, it was the COPS i was afraid of....

chelle,
i would be thir13teen if i didn't take a stab at the polar opposite side of the issue. i do it in the name of love and to make people think just a bit... what you saw on friday versus what i saw on saturday may have been due to the appeal of the crowd. ya know? Kid Capri and Cut are old school heads, so there may have been a considerable amount of ADULTS on the streets Friday.... But Ray J brought the kiddies out on Saturday. I heard Friday and Saturday were very different. I am not TOO AFRAID of my people... however, how can any of you really forget about my behavior in killeen? hahahahaha...

I know 13, u do have a way of sparking controversy LOL, i mean that in a good thought provoking way. lol.
i heard as well, it was 2 different crowds.
and yes, i do remember your behavior in Ktown, it was funny.

copa, this time of year is Texas Relays...along with some of the hottest hs and college track teams, it is also the biggest black social event sorta speak.

and you know treatment of "our" gatherings, compared to "theirs" brings about double standards.
